Traditional Recliner
The entire footrest moves as one unit.
Patent-pending comfort concept
A smarter recliner designed for real life. DualZone™ Comfort System allows each side of the footrest to operate independently, giving you comfort that adapts to the way people actually live.
The story behind it
Too often, my cat curls up on the footrest of my recliner, leaving only two choices: disturb the cat or stay put. He's an older cat so jumping up real quick is not easy for him. I constantly wish one side of my recliner would fold down while his side stays intact.
That small frustration sparked a bigger question: why are recliners designed as if both legs always want the same thing?
The answer became DualZone™ Comfort System — a simple idea that adapts comfort furniture to real life.
A quick note from the inventor
I came up with this idea after being repeatedly trapped in my recliner by a sleeping cat (to this day!).
So I filed a provisional patent and built this concept to explore whether others see value in it too.
I'm not selling anything today. I'm simply trying to learn whether this idea deserves to become a real product.
The everyday problem
Traditional recliners force both sides of the footrest to move together. But real life is rarely that symmetrical.
Maybe a pet falls asleep on one side. Maybe one leg needs elevation. Maybe you simply want one foot grounded while the other stays up.
DualZone™ Comfort System gives traditional recliner comfort a little more common sense.
The entire footrest moves as one unit.
Each side adjusts independently.
Designed for real life
Stand up without disturbing your four-legged companion.
Elevate one leg while keeping the other grounded and comfortable.
Because comfort needs aren't always symmetrical.
When a child falls asleep, you can get up without waking them.
How it works
When both sides are raised, the chair looks and feels like a normal recliner. The difference appears only when you need it.
Looks like a traditional recliner.
Right side lowers independently.
Left side lowers independently.
Easy seated position.

Where this stands today
The next step depends on whether enough people find this useful.

The real question
I’m one person with an idea and a provisional patent.
Before I pursue manufacturing, licensing, or fundraising, I’m trying to answer one simple question:
Would people actually want this? Is this something you’d actually buy?
If so, how do you think you would use it most?
Any contact information shared with me will remain confidential and will never be shared or sold. This is exclusively for concept validation purposes.
Whether you join the waitlist, submit feedback, or simply spend a few minutes exploring this idea, I genuinely appreciate your time. Every response helps me determine whether DualZone™ Comfort System should become a real product.
